Dr. Otto Schmid from Sontheim: Unanimous nomination as district administrator candidate!

In the Unterallgäu district, a new wind is in the starting blocks for the upcoming elections. Dr. Otto Schmid from Sontheim was nominated as the Green Party's district administrator candidate last week with 100 percent approval. This remarkable electoral unity underlines the party's support for Schmid, who will represent the Greens until the local elections on March 8, 2026. The former head of the Rupert Ness Schools in Ottobeuren has 26 years of experience and feels well prepared for his new challenge.

Together with Johanna Hölzle, the district chairwoman, and Robert Blasius, a member of the district board, Schmid forms a strong team. In his introductory speech, he emphasized the urgency of listening to understand citizens' concerns. Schmid would particularly like to work on issues such as the district's financial resources, housing, care, mobility and the sustainable settlement of companies. His commitment was well received by the audience, which was reflected in the huge applause during his farewell.

The stock market and its pitfalls

This positive news came as Treasury yields fell, despite recent Federal Open Market Committee minutes showing disagreement over rate cuts. Nvidia recently passed the magic mark of $4 trillion in market capitalization, a milestone that is also attracting many other companies and fueling some optimism. It remains exciting to see whether these trends will continue in the upcoming reporting season.

Smart planning is everything

Whether in politics, business or gaming – the right timing and smart action can be crucial. While the Greens are ushering in a new era in Unterallgäu, developments on the markets show that technical innovations are also being actively discussed. Perhaps a bit of political wisdom can also be found in gaming in order to successfully overcome the challenges.
