Dr. Otto Schmid from Sontheim was nominated as the Green Party's district administrator candidate last week with 100 percent approval. This remarkable electoral unity underlines the party's support for Schmid, who will represent the Greens until the local elections on March 8, 2026. The former head of the Rupert Ness Schools in Ottobeuren has 26 years of experience and feels well prepared for his new challenge.
Together with Johanna Hölzle, the district chairwoman, and Robert Blasius, a member of the district board, Schmid forms a strong team. In his introductory speech, he emphasized the urgency of listening to understand citizens' concerns. Schmid would particularly like to work on issues such as the district's financial resources, housing, care, mobility and the sustainable settlement of companies. His commitment was well received by the audience, which was reflected in the huge applause during his farewell.
