In the 2022/23 season, the young defender made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga with 1. FC Nürnberg before joining Jahn Regensburg on loan, where he initially caused a stir.

Breunig has signed a contract with Eintracht Braunschweig until June 30, 2028, which also includes an extension option. Eintracht is thus showing sustained interest in Breunig and is planning long-term with the talented player.
