There will be a celebration in Wunsiedel tomorrow! The “Green Tree” youth center looks back on an impressive history and is celebrating its 50th anniversary. With activities and impressions that shaped many young people decades ago, this center not only attracts nostalgics, but also offers a wide range of leisure activities for today's youth. The founding of the youth center in 1975 had a far-reaching positive impact on local youth culture. After the Juz fell victim to a fire in 1980, the founding members at the time, especially Herbert Leupold, remained full of hope and determination. “Tears, sadness, horror” is how they described their reactions, but the will to rebuild the center was strong. Anniversary celebrations
The official part of the anniversary celebration begins at 5 p.m. with speeches by Mayor Nicolas Lahovnik and district youth worker Svenja Faßbinder, followed by Herbert Leupold. At 5:30 p.m., guests can look forward to a play by “Smashen Ducks,” which will be shown via video. At 6 p.m., a slide show with 250 previously unseen images from 1975 to 1978 will bring memories to life. After a short break with snacks and drinks, the cover band “Fem-Bänd” will provide musical entertainment, while DJ Guido will ensure the right party feeling.
