Jan Delay returns: new concert date set in Bremen!
Jan Delay's performance, which was planned for July 3rd on the floating stage in Bremen, was canceled due to the weather. Due to a violent thunderstorm and strong gusts, the concert had to be canceled at short notice. Despite initial hope that the event could still take place at 8:15 p.m., stubborn weather conditions led to the final cancellation just before 9 p.m., while fans were already in the Waterfront buildings awaiting instructions on how to do so t-online.de reported.
In a statement about the event, organizer Jan Trautmann explained that numerous calendars had to be coordinated in order to find a new date for the concert, which has now been set for July 30th at 7:30 p.m. The support act “Das Bo” will get the fans in the mood for the evening. Trautmann emphasized that there is hope that future thunderstorms might avoid the Hanseatic city of Bremen.
Bills for the concert
The cancellation has now also raised legal questions. Fans who cannot attend the new date on July 30th have until July 22nd to return their tickets. After this date, new interested parties will have the opportunity to purchase the tickets. The Consumer advice center points out that visitors have rights in the event of problems with concerts or festivals and can also assert claims in the event of a cancellation. As a rule, the organizer is the contractual partner, not the band or the ticket seller.
Jan Delay himself reacted to the situation and apologized to his fans via Instagram. He was really looking forward to the performance and also mentioned that many visitors came with Werder scarves to sing the anthem “Green White Love” together. Unfortunately, the fans were denied this experience for the time being.
A look back at the storm
The proper cancellation became essential due to an official storm warning. The visible effects of the extreme weather were not only the cancellation of the concert, but also numerous fire brigade operations in the city, which demonstrated the severity of the storm. Despite the predicament, many fans remained calm and some took the opportunity to hold a picnic at the Waterfront halls, while others waited for the organizers' decision.
Finally, it has to be said that Jan Delay's concert took a while, but the anticipation remains. The new date has been set and preparations are in full swing so that fans can experience an unforgettable evening with their idol on July 30th. There is certainly great hope for better weather among the organizers.
