Youth football in Germany is really getting going! On June 26, 2025, the German Football Association (DFB) published the group classifications for the U19 and U17 youth leagues. SV Wehen Wiesbaden was divided into exciting groups, which further increases the excitement for the coming season.

The U19 of SV Wehen Wiesbaden will play in a group of seven. Well-known opponents are waiting for the young talents here: Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, both participants in the UEFA Youth League, bring a special appeal with them. Additionally, FSV Frankfurt, Rot-Weiss Essen, TSV Schott Mainz and VfL Bochum are on the program for the young Wiesbadeners who are looking forward to testing their strengths against such strong competition. If you would like to find out more about the group division, you can read about it on the SV Wehen Wiesbaden website: SVWW.

U17 opponents

The U17s of SV Wehen Wiesbaden, on the other hand, are in a group of eight. There are two Hessian duels on the schedule here: Eintracht Frankfurt and SV Darmstadt 98, followed by 1. FC Kaiserslautern, 1. FC Saarbrücken, 1. FSV Mainz 05, Karlsruher SC and SV Elversberg. The fight for the top three places in League A will certainly be exciting, especially since the best teams can qualify for the main round. The SV Wehen Wiesbaden website also provides current information on this.

The first games of the season have already been fixed: The U19s start on August 3rd, 2024 against SV Wehen Wiesbaden, followed by their first home game on August 10th against Alemannia Aachen. The U17, on the other hand, begins its campaign a week later, on August 10, 2024, against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and has 1. FSV Mainz 05 as its first home opponent the following week.

Media support and live broadcasts

Sky Deutschland offers all fans and interested parties a great opportunity to watch the games live. From August 2024, Sky will exclusively broadcast the U19 and U17 DFB youth competitions. Around 70 games are planned per season, and of course this also includes one highlight game per match day. The live streams are free of charge Sky Sports, available in the Sky Sport app and via Sky social media.

The cooperation between the DFB and Sky was recently expanded with the aim of putting more focus on youth football. Hans Gabbe from Sky emphasized the relevance of the collaboration for the young target group, while Manuel Hartmann from the DFB gave a positive assessment of the media coverage of the junior competitions. This shows that there is a lot of potential for the young Kickstars here.

The coming season promises not only exciting games, but also excellent media coverage. Let's look with curiosity at how SV Wehen Wiesbaden's youth work will develop and which talents may soon present themselves in the professional field. Football enthusiasts can definitely look forward to a great sporting year!
