Light shooting in Frankfurt: 700 children celebrate an exciting premiere
The premiere of the German Light Shooting Championships was celebrated in Frankfurt am Main last weekend, and the enthusiasm was hard to miss. Around 700 young talents and young shooters populated the LLZ, and the atmosphere was consistently positive. The event was organized by the German Shooting Youth, which has once again proven that it has a good knack for such large-scale events. How dsb.de reported, however, technical problems with the electronic discs from DISAG caused delays. So the schedule had to be stretched a bit and the first awards ceremony was a good two hours late.
Tanja Frank, President of the Hessian Shooting Association, was enthusiastic about the high number of participants and emphasized the importance of promoting young talent. “It’s nice to see how much interest the young athletes show in shooting sports,” she explained. Stefan Rinke, the Vice President of Youth of the German Shooting Association, also commented positively on the successful premiere and the professional work of the organizing team and the judges.
Competitions and records
The competitions themselves were eye-catching and showed the impressive achievements of the participants. Particularly noteworthy is Emilia Führhöfer from the Abendstern Ludwigsmoos shooting club. She achieved a new German record with 200 rings in the student II class and thus secured the title. In this category, Mia Haferbecker came second and third with 194 rings and Philia Fröhlich with 191 rings.
Here are the results of the most important categories at a glance:

In addition, in the Student II team ranking, the SGi zu Werder/Havel shooters were the high flyers and took first place with 566 rings, followed by SV Grünmettstetten (562 rings) and KKSV Wabern (553 rings). By the way, the announcements for the German Championships are currently also available online. The competitions, which were planned for August 9th and 10th, were characterized by the use of the DISAG light shooting systems. It was particularly emphasized that teams could be formed especially for student classes II and III and could be registered up to 30 minutes before the first start osb-jugend.de informed.
