Standing in line in the Main pool: is rescue coming for visitors?

There's a lot going on in Frankfurt's Main-Bad Bornheim at the moment. During the last autumn holidays, the pool, which was only reopened in May after a technology break, was literally overrun by visitors. The queues often stretched to the entrance area and many had to wait more than an hour to get in. Regular complaints about the lack of information from staff made the situation even more unpleasant for those waiting. However, Boris Zielinski, managing director of Bäderbetriebe Frankfurt, was unable to predict this chaos because there was no empirical data at the beginning. These difficulties seem to have diminished after the first few days, so that the information situation for those waiting has now improved.

The F.A.Z.reports that the number of visitors has returned to normal after the autumn holidays. There is no need to worry about long waiting times for the upcoming weekend. However, we are not looking to the future without concern, as the situation could worsen again during the upcoming Christmas holidays. The pool companies are considering how they can better regulate the number of visitors during this time. One approach could be a price tier for less busy off-peak times, although a price change for admission to children under 14, which was originally excluded, is not in line with pool policy. Zielinski emphasized that finding solutions to regulate crowds during the holidays is a high priority.
