Holiday flight operations are in full swing in Frankfurt am Main today. The airport operator Fraport reports a smooth start to the summer holidays. A total of nine million passengers are expected to pass through the airport by the end of the school break. This is not a small increase, as passenger numbers are already at around 90 percent of the level before the corona pandemic. On Saturday, the first weekend of the holidays, Fraport is expecting around 205,000 passengers, and on Sunday there could also be up to 215,000 passengers a day, as FNP reports.
On July 4, 2025, over 800,000 students in Hesse started their well-deserved summer vacation. With over 1,400 flights to and from Frankfurt, the mood at the airport is correspondingly cheerful. On Friday, the last day of school, 207,000 passengers and 1,444 flight movements were counted. Online check-ins are in high demand, and reserving parking spaces early can't hurt either. Using public transport is also a good alternative to get to your destination in a relaxed manner.
