Musical summer: Fernwald musicians inspire in Gießen!
On June 24, 2025 it's that time again: The musical summer on the Schiffenberg in Gießen attracts numerous music lovers. This afternoon they have Fernwald musicians, under the direction of Marquard Nau-Mallien, take the stage. With around 200 guests, the atmosphere was great and the weather contributed to the summer atmosphere with its high temperatures.
The Fernwald Musicians' concert was a real joy for everyone present. The program included a colorful mix of 26 pieces played, including traditional music styles such as marches, polkas and waltzes. The event was moderated by Nora Schmidt, who also offered some singing performances together with Heinz-Herbert Walb. The songs performed put everyone in a good mood and invited the audience to sing along. Popular pieces such as “Mädel, ruck’ her zu mir”, “Such a beautiful day” and the polkas “Von Herz zu Herz” and “Musikantenlaune” were also part of the repertoire.
Anniversary event of the Fernwald Musicians
What is interesting is that this concert was part of a small tour to celebrate the group's 35th anniversary. The Fernwald Musikanten have been active in central Hesse since their founding and have earned a permanent place in the heart of the regional brass music scene with their performances. Next Sunday, June 25th, fans can look forward to the next brass music festival when the motto “Brass music makes you happy…” will be heard – and admission is free!
Coming soon musical highlights in the region
If you can't get enough of brass music, you should also mark May 30, 2026. This evening they will present themselves in the Gießen Congress Hall the Bohemian brass music jewels. From 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., visitors can experience the joy of life and community spirit of this style of music. Numerous performances are expected, which are an invitation to celebrate not only for die-hard fans of brass music.
