Hesse is celebrating: 18 new Michelin stars for gourmet enjoyment!
An exciting update from the world of gastronomy brings us the latest results from the Michelin Guide. In Hesse, culinary enthusiasts can look forward to 18 excellent restaurants, including the well-known restaurant “Lafleur” in Frankfurt, which was able to successfully defend its star. The “Sommerfeld” in Frankfurt also received a new star this year after it took over the former star of the “Weinsinn”, which had to close in 2024. Hesse therefore remains without a three-star restaurant, as Fuldaer Zeitung reports.
In total, the list of star kitchens in Hesse includes two two-star restaurants and 18 one-star restaurants. Other gastronomic highlights include “Christian & Friends Tastekitchen” in Fulda, which has now been able to defend its Michelin star for the fourth time in a row. The “Gustav”, once decorated with two Michelin stars, had to close its doors last year.
Hesse's culinary delights at a glance
In total, the 18 star restaurants in Hesse are assessed as part of an extensive culinary landscape that includes a total of 341 top cuisines in Germany. Interestingly, 36 new restaurants were created this year and were also included in the regularly updated list, as SWP describes.
Sustainability is also becoming more important: The “BjörnsOx” in Dermbach (Thuringia) defended its star and also received a green star for sustainable cooking. A laudable recognition for those who value regional and environmentally conscious production methods. In addition, a total of seven restaurants in Hesse were awarded a green star, as noted by Capital.
A look beyond the borders
The “Guide Michelin” has an impressive history in Germany that goes back over 100 years and was originally intended as a travel guide for drivers. The first Michelin stars in Germany were awarded in 1966. Today, 12 restaurants in the country have been awarded the highest category of three stars, including two new restaurants this year: the “Restaurant Haerlin” in Hamburg and “Tohru in der Schreiberei” in Munich.
For anyone interested in gastronomy, the publication of the new restaurant guide provides valuable guidance in discovering the best places, be it for a fine dinner or simply for culinary enjoyment. The “Michelin Guide” continues to be a reliable navigation point through top cuisine.
