Musical adventure: daycare children experience Africa in a paddle boat!
A popular event created a great atmosphere and an unforgettable experience for the little ones in Waechtersbach last weekend. The preschool children from the ECT daycare center immersed themselves in a musical adventure that was organized by the Main-Kinzig music school as part of the popular “Paule Buhmann's Paddle Boat” project. This event attracted not only children, but also parents and relatives, who actively took part in a fantasy trip to Africa. The music school of the Association of German Music Schools (VdM) put together a creative ensemble of five musicians who captivated the children with various animal noises and movements. According to the MKK Echo, this event was described as the culmination of the children's time at daycare.
The highlight of the event was the rousing ride in “Paule Buhmann's Paddle Boat,” which takes up the annual theme song of the cultural summer project. The little adventurers met numerous animals, including rhinos, crocodiles, gorillas and even elephants, which made the event a real experience. The next stops of this popular project are planned for August 28th and 29th in Langenselbold and Gelnhausen.
Cultural summer: A popular meeting place for young and old
The Main-Kinzig-Fulda cultural summer was very popular last year. Over 15,000 visitors did not miss around 49 events in the Main-Kinzig district and 37 in the Fulda district. The children's cultural summer area was particularly well received. A total of eleven events took place in the Main-Kinzig district and ten in the Fulda district, with over 4,000 spectators attending the events. Projects such as “Paule Puhmann's Paddle Boat”, “Bremen Town Musicians” and “The Summer Music Days” attracted the crowds and left a positive response, as Fuldainfo reported.
What was noticeable was that despite the impressive frequency of events, the overall number of visitors declined. Nevertheless, the cultural offices and those responsible are showing great interest in further expanding the large number of events. Events for the next cultural summer can be applied for using an online form until March 15th, while feedback for funding applications will be given at the end of March.
From funding to implementation
The success of such projects often depends on financing. Those interested in planning events in the area of children's culture can apply for funding of up to 8,000 euros. Such support is particularly important for smaller clubs in order to turn creative ideas into reality. The German Children and Youth Foundation informs that applications can be submitted continuously, with the next deadlines ending on March 31st and September 30th. This clearly shows that, on the one hand, a lot of commitment is required from the cultural sector and, on the other hand, there are numerous opportunities for support.
Looking ahead to the next events and further developments in the cultural summer, we can only hope that so many creative and exciting projects will be created for children and families in the future. And one thing is certain: the musical journey with “Paule Buhmann's Paddle Boat” is just one of many ways to make our region's cultural landscape lively and colorful.
