Kickboxing world champion Marb inspires Eberstadt with charity campaign!
On August 10, 2025, a special autograph card campaign took place as part of the popular Kerb in Eberstadt, which supported a good cause. Kickboxing world champion Hannes Marb was the main protagonist of the event, which was held in collaboration with the SAN-TI martial arts school. The creative motto “Laughter helps heal!” The clown doctors were the focus of the work.
Each participant was able to pick up an autograph card and then upload a photo of it to Instagram. For every picture posted with the sponsor @1Apersonal by Thomas Dick, one euro was donated to the clown doctors. The excellent collaboration between Hannes Marb and the SAN-TI martial arts school underlined the social aspect of the event and the commitment to disadvantaged children.
Successful participation and awards
The SAN-TI martial arts school did not miss out on competition and was broadly based. Overall, the school took part in several important tournaments. From the Hessen Championship of the World Martial Arts Committee (WMAC) to international championships – the successes speak for themselves. Ben Gebhardt was able to bring several medals to Eberstadt at the WMAC Bregenz Open and achieved placements in the Pointfighting and Kicklight categories on various occasions.
The results of the competitions are impressive:
- Hessenmeisterschaft (09.03.2024): 3x Gold, 6x Silber, 7x Bronze
- Weltmeisterschaft der WFMC (22.10.2023): Ben Gebhardt wurde Weltmeister in der Kategorie -50 kg Kids.
- Championsday in Bassenheim: Jarod Klub holte sich den Grand Champion Titel.
These successes not only testify to individual talent, but also to the good training and strong team spirit within the SAN-TI martial arts school. Many of the athletes showed impressive performance and achieved excellent placings.
Martial arts and social responsibility
But the focus of the SAN-TI martial arts school is not just on competitions. Social responsibility is also playing an increasingly important role. This is underpinned by the cooperation with the “Full Contact – Democracy and Martial Arts” project, which examines the relationship between traditional martial arts clubs and commercial providers and develops strategies to prevent violence and discrimination in martial arts.
A study examines the structures and potential of martial arts in Austria. In this way, the organization of sport is critically questioned and important approaches to responsible behavior in sports are suggested. In order to ensure continuous improvement and awareness of these topics, the exchange of experiences and knowledge is essential.
In conclusion, it can be said that the Kerb in Eberstadt is not only a locally lived traditional festival, but also a stage for social projects that bring joy and laughter to the hearts of many people. The committed work of the clown doctors and the support from diverse actors such as Hannes Marb and the SAN-TI martial arts school make it clear that genuine cooperation and solidarity are of great importance even in today's world.
