Jusos Vogelsberg elect dual leadership for more political dynamism!

On August 24, 2025, the members of the Jusos Vogelsberg met for the annual general meeting, at which a new management board was elected. Julia Rausch, who is only 20 years old and is active as the SPD local association chairwoman in Romrod, and Paul Wieczorek, 21 years old and chairman of the SPD Freiensteinau, will take on the role of co-chairman in the future. Frederik Frimmel, who is now passing on the baton after four years in office, was until then not only a local politician, but also deputy district chairman of the Jusos Hesse-South. He emphasized the importance of politics: “Politics can be close and with a desire for change.”

The past few months have been quite active. In addition to the committed work in the European and federal election campaigns, the Jusos also got into conversation with citizens through various distribution campaigns and information stands. Particularly worth mentioning is the “Pizza & Politics” format, in which members of the state parliament maintained an open dialogue with politically interested young people. The new board would like to use this momentum to get young people excited about the social democratic idea, especially with a view to the upcoming local elections in 2026.

Committed new members and a breath of fresh air

In addition to the new leadership, the deputy chairmen were also elected: Viviane Player-Bridel and Gabriel Vega Chico. The board is also made up of assessors, including Sven Danzeisen, Frederik Frimmel, Anton Karl, Luca Alexander Möller, Sophia Marie Neff, Lukas Nörmerich and Ole Seibert. With this broad positioning, the new board wants to powerfully represent the interests of young people in Vogelsberg.

The Jusos are now listening and ready to actively enter into dialogue. They not only have local support in mind, but also national support. Daniel Krusic, the new chairman of the Jusos in Baden-Württemberg, addresses the low trust young people have in parties and the need for changes in the political system. He emphasizes that the existing structures are often not geared to the needs of young voters. For Krusic, it is essential to break down barriers so that more people can actively participate in politics. It shows that social media plays an important role in reaching and mobilizing younger voters.

A look into politics shaped by youth

The Jusos nationwide face similar challenges as the regional associations. Finding new ways to get young people interested in politics is a key concern. The organizational structure of the Jusos, for example, provides for a federal executive board that consists of a federal chairman, a federal managing director and ten deputies and implements the resolutions of the federal congress. This congress will set the course for the future work of the Young Socialists. Political commitment is strengthened by the opportunity to stand in district or state delegate conferences.

At a time when many political parties, including both the SPD and the CDU, are losing members - especially among younger people - it is critical that the Jusos appear confident and bring fresh ideas. The new co-chairs in Vogelsberg and their colleagues across the country are called upon to strengthen trust in political participation and thus to rekindle enthusiasm for social democratic ideas.
