Five teams are fighting for glory: Gießen/Marburg football group league 2025/2026!
A lot is happening in the football scene in the Gießen and Marburg region for the new 2025/2026 season. With exciting events in the group league, five local teams have found their places in the competition. How op-marburg.de reported, SF BG Marburg II were relegated to the Kreisoberliga Nord, while FSV Cappel, as champions, moved from the Kreisoberliga Nord to the promoted team. Other representatives from the Marburg football district are also taking on the challenge: SV Bauerbach, VfB Wetter and FSV Schröck.
But that's not all! The league is also experiencing a breath of fresh air this season thanks to VfL Biedenkopf, which represents the Biedenkopf football district. Four relegated teams from the association league, including SG Kinzenbach, FC Burgsolms, FC Cleeberg and SC Waldgirmes II, have now found themselves in the lower reaches of the league. Particularly worth mentioning is the rise of FSV Cappel as well as the newcomers SG Naunheim/Niedergirmes, Eintracht Lollar and FSG Grünberg/Lehnheim/Stangenrod, who made their way into the higher league.

The Giessen/Marburg group league now includes a total of 18 teams. This number is above the usual guideline of 17 and makes for an exciting season. The following teams are at the start:

Also notable is the relegation of Türkiyemspor Gießen, Spvgg Leusel and MTV Gießen, who have to return directly to the lower leagues. The SG Oberes Edertal was unable to secure relegation and now has to reorient itself.
