Ringgau wind farm: Construction of eleven giants starts in 2026!
In the Werra-Meißner district, construction work will begin in 2025 for eleven new wind turbines in Ringgau, which are scheduled to be put into operation by 2027.

Ringgau wind farm: Construction of eleven giants starts in 2026!
In the municipality of Ringgau, not far from Witzenhausen, an important infrastructure project is in the starting blocks: the construction of eleven approved wind turbines in the Graburg wind farm is taking concrete shape. How HNA reported, the first clearing work is scheduled to begin at the beginning of 2026, while the municipality will sign contracts with three system operators at the same time.
In this context, Cube Green Energy plans to build a total of six powerful wind turbines. Construction on this project is scheduled to begin at the end of 2026, with commissioning planned for fall 2027. These wind turbines are expected to impress with a hub height of 164 meters and a rotor diameter of 163 meters. Their total height reaches an impressive 245 meters, and each system could generate up to 7 megawatt hours of energy - significantly more than the 5.5 megawatt hours previously used.
Financial framework and municipal advantages
To finance these ambitious projects, the developers have concluded extensive contracts for usage fees and line rights with terms of 20 to 30 years. The municipality of Ringgau will benefit from annual income of around 70,000 euros from Orsted and 104,000 euros from Cube Green Energy. These amounts could help to relieve local finances and at the same time increase acceptance of renewable energies.
In addition, Ringgau receives a municipal bonus of 0.2 cents for every kilowatt hour of energy generated by the wind turbines. This is another step in the right direction to promote a sense of community and financial stability in the region.
Background information on energy production
The energy transition in Germany also shows positive developments, like this Federal Environment Agency determines. Today, 22.4% of gross final energy consumption is already covered by renewable energies, and this share is expected to rise to 41% by 2030. Wind energy has taken on a key role and already accounts for the largest share of electricity generation, with growth having almost doubled since the last ten years.
Cube Green Energy, the company behind the upcoming projects in Ringgau, has established itself as a leading provider in the development of renewable energy. 61,740 tons of CO2 emissions are avoided annually and more than 250 GWh of clean energy is produced. These products supply around 62,822 households and thus sustainably support the regional energy supply. Its CEO Raghuveer Kurada drives the environmentally friendly initiatives, which also rely on advanced solutions, such as the use of artificial intelligence for operational decisions and agri-photovoltaic solutions.
The projects in Ringgau are also part of a larger project that is leading the region onto a green energy path. On July 1st there will also be an information event in the Wilhelm-Schellhase-Halle in Röhrda, where citizens can find out more about the windy plans and have the opportunity to ask questions.
The Graburg wind farm is therefore not only an important construction project, but also an important step towards a sustainable and environmentally friendly future for the community of Ringgau and beyond.
