Medieval festival in Büdingen: Immerse yourself in another time!
The bear is dancing in Büdingen: Preparations for the eagerly awaited medieval festival are in full swing. On July 12th and 13th, 2025, the charming city will be transformed into a vibrant center of the Middle Ages. Markus Kraft and his team are already hard at work equipping the tavern with stable intermediate timbers. The rain can come calmly! There is a smell of fresh straw everywhere as tents, benches and fire pits are set up, while the historic city wall serves as an eerie backdrop.
The festival promises to be a real blast. Over 100 vendors and artisans will be selling their wares, ranging from handmade products to culinary delights. Participants from all over Wetterau and beyond – even from Romania – are there. With a big parade on Saturday at 12 p.m. and a second one on Sunday at 6:30 p.m., the medieval atmosphere will blow through the streets.
A program for the whole family
The Medieval Festival aims to create a living illusion of bygone times while promoting interest in this fascinating era. The program is varied: from jugglers and dance groups to children's activities, such as a children's knight tournament and camel rides, to a historical carousel, there is also plenty of entertainment. There's something for everyone here - even the little ones get their money's worth!
The knight's tournament and an impressive fire show on the Büdinger sports field round off the program. The fire show takes place on Saturday at 10 p.m., while the knights' tournament takes place several times over two days. The first performance on Saturday starts at 2:00 p.m. - the best opportunity to secure the best seats in advance.
Practical information for visitors
You don't have to dig deep into your pocket for the tickets. The price of 15 euros is more than fair, and tickets are available online or at the box office. The earlier you sign up, the cheaper the tickets will be. Early birders can benefit from a particularly attractive price until June 28, 2025! There are then different price levels up to the regular box office price, which applies from July 7th.
The city of Büdingen and the festival organizers do everything they can to give visitors an unforgettable experience. With intensive construction and a lot of commitment from around 12 helpers who put in around 10 hours of office work, it will be a festival that brings history to life.
