On Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, it will once again be “cameras running, action!”: The children’s film festival “Klappe 7” will take place in Wiesbaden Museum instead of. At exactly 12 noon, the little filmmakers between the ages of six and twelve will present their creative works on the big screen. This entertaining festival has been organized annually since 2007 by various municipal children's and youth centers as well as the school social work department to promote the creative talents of kids.
The event is a real highlight for the younger generation and will offer visitors a wide range of film genres. The children have created short fiction films, documentaries and animated films, with each contribution having a running time of 30 seconds to eight minutes. This offers the young talents the opportunity to tell their stories and learn everything from script writing to camera work and editing programs.
Prizes and awards
There are exciting awards for the best films. An expert jury will award prizes to the three most outstanding entries, while audience awards are also up for grabs, which viewers can award. This shows how much joy and commitment there is in the children's film projects.
Entrance to the festival opens at 11:30 a.m. The opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people and admire other children's works makes the visit particularly attractive. The focus of the festival is clearly on creative work and DIY, which encourages children to develop their own ideas and implement them in film form.
