Summer concert in Cuxhaven: Students inspire with musical diversity!
On June 23, 2025, the Lichtenberg-Gymnasium in Cuxhaven experienced a very special concert that took visitors into a world full of music and emotions. The evening was opened by the talented guitar group, who immediately thrilled the audience with classical pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach and Mauro Giuliani. The mix of tradition and creative freedom was noticeable right from the start.
Afterwards, the “LiG Harmonics” choir performed under the sensitive direction of Sabine Rönnfeld. The program was based on the theme of “Water” and impressed the guests with a special performance of “Germany, Your Children” by Rolf Zuckowski. These moving sounds address the responsibility that older generations have for the future of children - a wonderful moment that made you think.
Diversity of talents
The musical performances didn't stop there. Other ensembles showed the musical diversity of the students: singing, piano and string instruments complemented by the rousing school band “Soos”. She presented six pieces and was a real highlight of the evening with hits like “Kiss me” and “Junge” by the Ärzte. Band leader Bernhard Zimmermann took the opportunity to honor three members who are leaving school after graduating from high school. The last piece of the evening, “Superstition”, had the audience clapping and celebrating enthusiastically, making the concert an unforgettable experience.
The guests sat close together in the forum of the Lichtenberg-Gymnasium and were clearly enthusiastic about the variety of performances and the skills of the talented students who took the stage that evening. This once again made it clear what a central place music plays in the life of the school.
The Elbe Tour 2025 with Rolf Zuckowski
Another big musical event is coming up: Elbkinderland e.V. has published the details of the “Elbtour 2025 – On the Road Together”. This musical journey along the Elbe is planned under the patronage of Rolf Zuckowski, with performances in a total of eleven cities and a total of 14 dates. This colorful series of concerts offers a variety of musical experiences in different cities, from Hamburg-Harburg to Cuxhaven to Glückstadt.
The tour starts on March 29, 2025 with a benefit concert in the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle in Hamburg-Harburg. The next concerts will take place in Hamburg-Blankenese, Magdeburg and other cities until a final concert in Hamburg. A highlight is the open air at the Kugelbake Hall in Cuxhaven, which will take place on September 13, 2025. All information about the tour and advance ticket sales is on the website elbtour.de available.
The Elbtour will set another example for the lively music culture in Germany and bring both the artists and the audience together. The connection between generations is about more than just music - it's about community and sharing experiences.
Overall, the evening at the Lichtenberg-Gymnasium was once again an example of the commitment and creativity of the school community. Musical events like these are not only a celebration of sound, but also an illustration of the connections created through music.
