In Sögel next weekend it's all about the fair, which is organized by NOZ is described as an integral part of the regional events calendar. From August 16th to 18th, 2025, many people from the municipality and the surrounding area are looking forward to a colorful hustle and bustle. The opening of the festival falls on Saturday, immediately after the service on the market square at 2:30 p.m., and then it's “free travel” for all rides.
This year, visitors can look forward to a completely new highlight: the x-Flight ride. In addition, guests can expect a large Ferris wheel from which they can enjoy a magnificent view over the fair and Sögel. Other attractions such as bumper scooters, shooting and throwing shops are also included. There is a special treat on Saturday as all rides offer reduced prices. This is sure to put young and old in a good mood. The summer night party with the band Sonic & Smoke starts at 8 p.m. and promises an unforgettable experience.
Cultural experiences and traditions
On Sunday, August 17th, the Assumption Pilgrimage at Clemenswerth Castle is traditionally on the program. This begins at 10 a.m. and pilgrims are expected from 9:30 a.m. At the same time, a children's church takes place in the Clemenswerth stables. The fair also opens its doors on Sunday at 11.30 a.m., directly after the service and a morning pint with musical accompaniment from the Sögel Kolping Chapel.
In the afternoon, visitors can expect an exciting program with performances such as street dance and hip-hop. A shopping Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. also offers numerous opportunities for a shopping spree. At the end of the day, solo artist ThortE gets people in the mood.
A festive finale
The crowning conclusion of the fair weekend is Monday, when Mayor Johannes Völker opens the morning pint with a traditional tapping of draft beer. The band Hands Up ensures the right atmosphere, while DJ Lucky delights those present with an after-work party. The highlight of the evening will be a magnificent fairground fireworks display at 10 p.m., which will bathe the night in a magical light.
