Big village festival in Hohenkirchen: Five days full of fun and music!

The anticipation for the traditional village festival in Hohenkirchen is growing! From June 26th to 29th, 2025 there will be a colorful program for the whole family, which the Hohenkirchen village community has prepared with a lot of dedication. This year too, visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities, music and culinary delicacies. The children's festival begins at 3 p.m. and enchants the little guests with a bumper car and a children's carousel. The official opening will take place at 7.30 p.m. by Mayor Mario Szlezak, followed by a free beer serving - there will definitely be a great atmosphere! The “Music Fun Team” with DJ Werner Hajen will provide the musical entertainment on the first evening, lasting well into the night.

Colorful program for all age groups

Friday is also filled with great experiences. The festival area opens at 2 p.m. and at 3 p.m. there is coffee and cake with the “De Platters”. A traditional concert in the Gaukirche is also on the program, while the Cologne party band “Merilyn” will provide musical highlights in the festival tent at 9 p.m. A good hand is required here: If you still have energy after the band, you can let off steam with the “Music Fun Team” until 1 a.m.

Saturday starts early with a flea market at 9 a.m. – an Eldorado for bargain hunters! There will also be delicious pea soup and a car exhibition from the Wangerland car dealership from 12 p.m. In the afternoon, the TuS RW Tettens hip-hop group and the youth fire department will show off their skills before the fun event “Hohenkirchen is looking for the superstar” starts at 7:30 p.m. Registrations are already necessary to secure places. The Emden cult band “Sixpack” will provide the musical conclusion to the evening from 9 p.m.

Festive conclusion on Sunday

The last day of the festival, Sunday, begins with an open-air service. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the shanty choir “Likedeeler” at 11:30 a.m. The big parade will take place from 3 p.m., for which many groups have registered - but further registrations are still welcome. After the parade, the “Samurai” Jiu-Jitsu Center will put on an impressive martial arts show, followed by a performance by musician Julian Schmidt.

For the safety and convenience of visitors, there will be several road closures around Bismarckstrasse during this time, which will be in effect from Wednesday evening to Monday lunchtime. Visitors should therefore arrive in good time and have a little patience.
