What would a visit to this region be without exploring on foot? The Friesland website recommends a 12 km hiking route around the Langweerder Wielen. Langweer itself is a true tourist gem - charming old buildings and cozy cafés invite you to linger. If you stop in the nearby town of Boornzwaag, you can even admire the Sweachmer windmill - a real image of the gods. In addition, the return to Langweer is perfect to relax in one of the numerous cafés or enjoy the view of the waves.

Popular types of boats include a variety of houseboats, motor boats and sailing boats, which go to the larger lakes such as the IJsselmeer and the Waddenzee.

Leisure options are almost endless: whether on the water or on land – there is something for everyone here! A boat license is not necessary for boats under 15 meters, although it is recommended. The region is ideal for water sports from June to September, but it also has its own charm in the other seasons.
