This was sad news from Göttingen for HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim. On November 1st, 2025, the magicians from Swabia had to admit defeat against BG Göttingen with 88:100. With this defeat, the Merlins' impressive five-game unbeaten winning streak came to an end. While the team tried to bring about a turnaround, Göttingen showed where the hammer was right from the start.
The encounter didn't start well for the Merlins. After just three minutes of play, Crailsheim was already 5:15 behind and had to collect themselves. In the first quarter, the hosts proved their strength and extended their lead to a whopping 14 points: the first quarter score was 41:27 for Göttingen. The Merlins didn't really find their way into the game in the second quarter either and the halftime score was clearly in Göttingen's favor at 47:67.
Challenge for the Merlins

T.J. Madlock was the Merlins' top scorer and contributed 20 points to the game. But the support of his teammates was also important: Garderner scored 13, Gaines 12, Ogunsipe 12 and Langley 10 points. The Merlins can now look forward to the upcoming games, which will take place on Friday against the Nuremberg Falcons and on Sunday against Bayreuth.
