The district adult education center’s new fall/winter program is exciting!

The District adult education center in the district of Harburg has presented its new program booklet for the fall-winter semester 2025. Under the motto “Maybe the beginning of something really big” a colorful offer awaits the participants. Here you will not only find language courses, but also creative activities and health courses that make learning an experience.

In his remarks, Stefan Baumann, the director of the institution, emphasizes the importance of the adult education center as a “space for encounters and inspiration”. This is the case Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude on board as a cooperation partner to actively support the educational offering. Regional Director Cord Köster makes it clear that the focus is on lifelong learning and emphasizes the advantages that such educational offers bring.

Diverse courses and offers

The new program booklet is already available in the Sparkasse's town halls and advice centers. Those interested can also find out more online at www.kvhs-harburg.de. Many of the courses start in September. A special treat for Sparkasse checking account holders: They receive a one-off discount of ten percent on a course.

Additionally there is the Community college special educational leave offers that are adapted to the new requirements of the labor market. Employees can be released for up to five days per year for further training. The regulations for educational leave vary depending on the federal state. For example, in Bavaria and Saxony there are no exemption measures for further training.

The courses provide not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills. From rhetoric and software training to language courses and health care, everything your heart desires is included. For many employees, this can be a valuable opportunity to upskill and learn new skills.

Spanish courses for the curious

As part of the educational offering, two new Spanish courses led by Ileana Mattinger-Suárez are also available. The “Get to know Spanish trial course – Bienvenidos!” takes place from July 7th to August 18th, 2025 and is ideal for newcomers. Simple dialogues, playful exercises and cultural impulses are taught here.

For those who want to delve deeper into the Spanish language, the “Spanish for Beginners A1.1” course, which runs from September 15th to December 8th, 2025, is ideal. Participants learn about basic everyday situations and also gain insights into Latin American culture. Both courses take place at the Karl Ritter School in Kirchheimbolanden and are perfect for beginners.
