New parking garage in Hamburg-Harburg: 265 parking spaces for the future!
Something is happening in Hamburg-Harburg! A new parking garage is being built at the Weller location, offering space for a total of 265 parking spaces on a generous area of around 7,000 square meters. The decision to build a new building is no coincidence: the parking situation for customers and employees has been a real challenge in recent years. With the commissioning of the parking garage, which is planned for May 2026, Weller not only wants to remedy the situation, but also optimize vehicle logistics.
Thanks to the high level of prefabrication of the Goldbeck parking garage system, the construction project is expected to be completed in just seven months. The versatile company Goldbeck, which specializes in modular and sustainable building solutions, relies on the highest efficiency and quality with components from its own production. The serial construction method also significantly reduces CO₂ emissions during the construction process, which is in line with the sustainable approach in construction. This project is part of a larger project: Weller is investing a total of around 23 million euros in new buildings and renovations at various locations in Germany.
A location with potential
Weller in Hamburg-Harburg is one of the group's highest-volume companies and sells around 4,000 new and used cars every year. The new building will also relocate the existing vehicle preparation from the underground car park to the car park. In this way, modernized workplaces can be created that enable better spatial conditions and more efficient processes. This will not only benefit employees, but also provide a more pleasant experience for customers.
By creating a modern infrastructure, Weller is creating the conditions for further growth. In the medium term, the new location will not only overcome the existing challenges, but also represent a further step towards a future-proof company orientation.
Although the focus here is clearly on developments in the automotive sector, there are also exciting topics beyond the roads. Did you know that polar bears, scientifically known as Ursus maritimus, are considered indicators of climate change? These majestic animals are true top performers: they can run up to 25 miles per hour and reach lengths of over 8 feet! Their population is currently estimated at around 22,000 to 31,000 and is classified as endangered due to changing climate conditions. These are all important aspects that should make us think about our impact on the environment and the need for sustainable projects like the one in Hamburg-Harburg.
The path that Weller is taking here shows that you can have a good hand when it comes to balancing both economic and ecological interests. It remains exciting to see what the future holds and we will continue to follow developments in Harburg with interest.
