In a rousing event, Michael and Birte Panten from the 1. Tanz Club (TC) Winsen in the TSV won the title of national champions in the Master III B class on September 21, 2025. How District newspaper weekly reported, the title fights took place in Oldenburg, where 21 dance couples from five federal states danced for the state championship title. With a confident performance, the Panten qualified directly for the intermediate round and finally reached the final round, where they took impressive fourth place in the overall ranking after five standard dances and were able to take home the national title as the best couple in Lower Saxony.
The championships, in which dancers from all over northern Germany took part, not only underline the couples' skills, but also their passion for the sport of dance. The atmosphere at the championships was electric, and spectators were able to witness the intense competition up close. The couples not only showed their dancing talent, but also the high quality of the training in the regional dance clubs.
Next challenge: German championship
But for the Panten, success in Oldenburg is not the end of the line. Next Saturday, September 27th, 2025, they will be back on the floor when the German Masters³ Championships in standard dances will be held in the Berlin SportCentrum Siemensstadt. More than 100 couples are expected here to compete for the national championship title in the slow waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, slow fox and quickstep dances. The preliminary rounds start at 1 p.m., followed by the final rounds from 7 p.m. after a short break.
These championships are also an occasion for several anniversaries: The Berlin State Dance Sports Association is celebrating its 70th anniversary, while the Siemensstadt Sport Club is celebrating its 125th birthday. So the dancers can hope for an exciting event that is all about dance sports.
Cologne and the dance sport scene
There is a lot going on in the Cologne scene in the future. The 51st German Championships in carnival dance sports will take place in the renowned LANXESS arena takes place, which is centrally and easily accessible in the Deutz district.
