Hildesheim becomes a football temple: floodlights for VfV 06!
A new star in Hildesheim's football sky is emerging! VfV 06 Hildesheim is taking big steps into the future and is planning to build a state-of-the-art floodlight system in the Friedrich-Ebert Stadium. This step is crucial because it is a prerequisite for licensing for the Regionalliga Nord, which the club has set as a sporting goal for its men's team and A-juniors. In the first 20 years after the merger and re-foundation, VfV 06 developed stably, and now the aim is to modernize the infrastructure on club pitches in order to be able to operate at the highest level in sport, reports VfV 06 Hildesheim.
Construction work on the new LED floodlight system has already begun, and the first home games under floodlights are planned for autumn 2023. This not only means a technical upgrade, but also an answer to the sporting and licensing requirements of the North German Football Association. Previous exemptions will no longer be valid, which is why the team may have to host their regional league home games at other locations without the new facility. This makes it all the more important that the construction site be completed on time, which should be completed by the start of the season on August 10, 2023, according to information from FuPa.
The key data of the floodlight system
The new lighting system will not only ensure optimal lighting conditions on the playing field, but will also illuminate the entrances as well as the standing and seating areas. With a height of 21 meters, it will provide illumination of 400 lux, which meets the highest requirements. The club emphasizes that the emotional impact of this infrastructure will also increase the attractiveness of football in the region.
The costs for a floodlight system should not be neglected. LED technology is usually around 30,000 euros more expensive, so the total investment for the new floodlight system could be between 85,000 and 90,000 euros. These costs include both the purchase and operating costs such as repairs and electricity, informs the Sportstättenrechner. Thanks to the support of the state of Lower Saxony, the city of Hildesheim and the EVI energy supply as well as other sponsors, those responsible have already collected a lot of support for the project.
Together for the floodlight system
In order to secure financing for the project, VfV 06 has launched a crowdfunding campaign. From an amount of 250 euros, donors can immortalize their name on a donor board at the stadium entrance, which is regularly updated in collaboration with the donors. Depending on the amount of the donation, differently designed tiles are provided for private individuals and companies. The donation account for supporters is set up at the Volksbank Hildesheim-Lehrte-Pattensen, and every donor also receives a receipt for their support, as the association reports.
