Masterclass for home office professionals: Increase visibility in virtual space!

At a time when many people are working from home, the issue of visibility in the home office is becoming increasingly important. An online workshop entitled “Visibility even in the home office” will take place on November 7, 2025. Organized by the Equal Opportunities Office of the Northeim district and the Unternehmensnetzwerk Wirtschaft & Familie e.V., this workshop aims to convey strategies for more presence in the digital working world. The experienced body language expert and communication trainer Kerstin Lehning will guide the participants through the event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The registration deadline is October 31, 2025, with the participation fee for those interested being 40 euros. Members can participate free of charge and receive all the necessary information and the access link by email.

But what exactly can participants expect in this workshop? In addition to the use of body language and non-verbal communication in virtual meetings, the development and maintenance of professional networks and self-marketing are also discussed. Given the increasing flexibility in the world of work, such skills are essential in order not to get lost in the digital mass.

The changing world of work

The change in the world of work accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic has not only created new ways of working, but has also raised important questions. During the pandemic, home office was the only way for many to maintain operational processes. Today, the need to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of mobile forms of work is becoming increasingly clear. It is clear from bmas.de that there is a growing desire for an individual legal right to examine home office options.

Thanks to the federal government's coalition agreement, the aim is to make mobile forms of work easier and legal. The aim is to enable more flexibility in work organization, which is met with broad approval by many employees.

Mobile working vs. teleworking

But what is the difference between mobile working and teleworking? According to a report by pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov, teleworking has a fixed workstation in a private space, while mobile working involves activities carried out from a location-independent location, with the employer being less responsible for the equipment. The legal situation is clear: There is no right to work from home in Germany, even though over 80% of IT employees worked from home during the pandemic. Interestingly, 93% stated that they were able to use their home office; in other areas such as the catering industry, the situation is completely different, where home office hardly offers any option.

Opportunities and challenges in the home office

The advantages of working from home should not be underestimated. An improved compatibility of family and work as well as flexible working hours bring significant relief for many people. But there are also challenges: not only is the need for IT security increasing, but the demands on self-organization in work are also increasing. Employers see home working as an opportunity to increase productivity and even reduce environmental impact by reducing commutes. However, there are also economic declines in certain industries, which highlights the negative aspects of working from home.

In summary, it can be said that the discussion about home office and mobile working is more topical than ever. The online workshop on November 7th could be a valuable step in increasing your own visibility and effectiveness in the digital working world. So if you're still considering whether you want to register, you should act quickly because the registration deadline is not far away!
