Golf Cup 2025: EWE Baskets rely on networking at the tournament!
Good weather, good atmosphere and great conversations about basketball and golf characterized the EWE Baskets Oldenburg charity golf tournament, which took place today at the Oldenburger Land golf club. Under the motto “Sport connects” almost 50 participants accepted the invitation of the premium partner ROBERT C. SPIES. Managing director Christian Andresen warmly welcomed everyone present and set the bar high: The aim of the event was not only to have fun, but also to establish networks within the community.
Competitions on the green gave participants the opportunity to demonstrate their skills. The tournament format consisted of an 18-hole round in which both women and men played for overall winner prizes. There were also awards in categories such as “Nearest To The (EWE Baskets) Ball” and “Longest Drive”. An introductory course for non-golfers was also very well received, so that even newcomers had the opportunity to swing the club.
A fair cooperation
The presence of well-known faces from the basketball world was particularly pleasing. The responsible Dirk Schiller from the easyCredit BBL, Srdjan Klaric, Managing Director of Sports at EWE Baskets, and Head Coach Mladen Drijencic were there. A highlight was the Hubird mascot, who put everyone in a good mood on the greens and tees.
After the sporting part of the event, there was a social get-together with a delicious barbecue buffet on the sun terrace. Here everyone involved was able to reflect on the day's experiences and have further interesting conversations.
Commitment to a good cause
And that wasn't all! Another notable charity golf tournament from the region, organized by the Rotary Club of Oldenburg – Graf Anton Günther, recently raised an impressive 6,000 euros for local projects. NWZonline reports that 3,520 euros will go to the Rotaract Kids Camp, which enables a holiday camp for children. A further 2,500 euros support the “Baskets4Life” association, which promotes health in daycare centers.
Charity golf tournaments not only combine sporting ambition, but also a strong social commitment. They offer a platform to draw attention to social issues and help many projects become stronger. How Caroline Masson aptly describes, such events are important to generate financial resources and promote social cohesion.
In summary, these tournaments reflect the fine art of golf combined with a great sense of community. Anyone who enjoys sport and wants to be socially involved can certainly look forward to many other events in the region. After all, golf not only strengthens technique, but also team spirit and cooperation. So remember: that next tee shot could be the start of something great!
