Laëtitia Milot: Her new drama Nouveau jour flops at M6!
An exciting chapter in the life of actress Laëtitia Milot seems to be closing. The popular French actress, known for her role in the hit series “Plus belle la vie”, recently shared her impressions of the daily series “Nouveau jour”, which aired on M6. According to a report by Voici, the series started promisingly, but viewership quickly declined, leading to its cancellation. Milot said that she hardly feels like she took part in “Nouveau jour” and finds it a shame that the series didn't achieve the success it deserved. “Nouveau jour” could not hold its own against other popular soaps and ultimately had to give way to competitive pressure.
“Nouveau jour” was a family drama complemented by comedic elements and followed the story of the Bartoli family. The first episode captivated viewers, but M6 was forced to cancel the series after a weak second run due to low viewership. This decision was also justified by the fact that there was no space for more than four daily series in the program, as the station explained.
A look back at the series
The first images from the series were released in April and viewers were treated to a welcoming hotel filming in a renovated castle near Montpellier. The set spanned over 3000 m² and featured various facilities that made the hotel an attractive location, as reported by Télé Star.
Milot and her career
For Laëtitia Milot, who was born in 1980, the expiring project is not the first in her more than 20-year career, which began with her role as Mélanie in “Plus belle la vie”. After leaving this series, she worked on many other productions, including “Le Meilleur Pâtissier” and several TV films. Her decision to take part in Nouveau jour seemed to be an attempt to explore new creative avenues, but the result was disappointing.
She is also active in the field of writing and has published two novels. Given current developments, Milot will now certainly be looking for new opportunities to continue the career she began in 2000 after reaching the Danse avec les stars competition.
Although “Nouveau jour” will soon be history, Laëtitia Milot will remain a face of French television. Her fans can look forward to seeing what projects she will tackle next.
