Drama on the pitch: Lindhorst narrowly wins against MTV Rehren 3:2!
In an exciting duel in the district football league, TuS Jahn Lindhorst met MTV Rehren A/R yesterday. The game ended with a narrow 3-2 win for the hosts from Lindhorst. The Lindhorst team sent a clear signal in the first half and were already leading 2-0 at the break. Miles Sydow opened the scoring in the 6th minute, followed by another goal from Jan-Malte Sydow in the 40th minute.
But while the Lindhorst supporters were already dreaming of a clear victory, MTV Rehren, who had to compete without the injured Jan Pinkenburg and Julian Meyer, failed to score any of their own in the first 45 minutes. Meyer recently ended his football career, which caused additional unrest in the Rehren squad. The Rehren coach Mike Schönherr was disappointed with his team's performance after the end of the game. In contrast, Lindhorst's coach Daniel Burk was very satisfied with the defensive orientation and the course of the game.
An up and down of emotions
TuS Jahn Lindhorst made it 3-0 in the second half through Massimilien Stahlhut in the 72nd minute, but the surrender of control towards the end made the game even more exciting. Rehren mobilized all his strength and scored two goals in stoppage time through Mika Bövers (90th minute) and Julian Lattwesen (93rd minute). The MTV thus put Lindhorster's final spurt in serious danger, which almost led to an equalizer, which noticeably increased the nervousness in the spectator stands.
