Great football talent in the community: training camp inspires 43 young people!
During the week of July 7th to 11th, 2025, an exciting training camp entitled “Foot et animation” took place at the Marcel-Thévenin stadium. A total of 43 young footballers aged 7 to 18 had the opportunity to improve their skills and gain valuable experience. The event was organized by the EauriGine association and was led by Nicolas Henry, who accompanied the participants through an extensive training program. The municipality contributed to the successful implementation by maintaining the pitches and providing rooms, as jhm.fr reports.
The athletes were looked after by an experienced team of trainers who can boast rapid careers. Jolan, a former athletic trainer at AS Nancy-Lorraine, as well as Thomas, who once played for PSG and now coaches a youth team at AJ Auxerre, and Medhi, a former French U21 player, shared their expertise. The training content was diverse and ranged from ball handling, passes and sprints to team games and strategic exercises.
Additional activities and values transfer
But that wasn't all! In the afternoons, participants were able to take part in a general education quiz and had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the sports of handisports, pickleball and poull ball. A special highlight of the week was the health education project, in which a Bragard hypermarket provided healthy snacks. A fair play competition also highlighted the values of sport and accompanied the participants throughout the entire event. Things got really exciting in the last few days: a mini-tournament called “World Championship” was on the program, in which the kickers could compete against each other in a group phase and then in the knockout system.
Football's appeal continues, and events like this help to promote enthusiasm for the sport. As the Youth Football Foundation emphasizes, football is about teamwork, passion and the personal development of young talents. The foundation is committed to finding innovative ways to train football and increasing the quality of youth training in order to responsibly promote talent and support their careers. Youth training is intended to be continuously improved through programs that combine practice, theory and science - a perspective that the coaches at the training camp also brought to life, as explained on stiftung-jugendfussball.de.
The many activities and professional support make it clear that not only sporting skills but also social values were taught this week. The community has shown a good hand by creating the necessary framework conditions. Such initiatives impressively show how important football is for the development of young people and how much joy and passion it conveys. This training camp was certainly an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
