In the SWT Arena in Trier, the VET-CONCEPT Gladiators celebrated an important victory in the Easycredit BBL on November 2nd, 2025 by defeating RASTA Vechta 96:87. The encounter was not only an exciting duel on the court, but also a special “family duel” between Trier’s sports director Ralph Held and his son Christian, Vechta’s head coach. In front of 5,368 spectators who rocked the hall, the atmosphere was electric from the start.

The second half was the scene of a thrilling comeback. In the third quarter the Gladiators took control as Vechta came under increasing pressure; Behnam Yakhchali received a disqualifying foul. Nevertheless, Vechta managed to briefly take the lead 78:73 in the last quarter. But Trier's strong final spurt decided the game in favor of the hosts. Jordan Roland von Trier and Alonzo Verge from Vechta both shone with 26 points each, which set them personal bests.
The statistics show an exciting duel: Trier achieved a shooting rate of 51%, while Vechta was only slightly better with 53%. Trier also collected 33 rebounds, while Vechta collected 30. When it came to assists, there was a tie with 19 each. A decisive factor in the win was the lower number of ball losses: Trier 16 and Vechta 19. The Gladiators also had to do without their top performer Clay Guillozet, while Vechta had to compete without Lars Thiemann and Lloyd Pandi.
On to the next challenges
The Gladiators can now prepare for their next game on November 9, 2025 against MLP Academics Heidelberg. Vechta, on the other hand, will face FC Bayern Munich on the same day and will also face the challenge in the FIBA Europe Cup against Valcea 1924 on November 5, 2025.
