World Championships for young dressage horses: Verden in World Championship fever!

The anticipation for a great event in the world of dressage horses is increasing! From August 6th to 10th, 2023, after a four-year break, the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses will take place in Verden. This is the 18th edition of this prestigious event, which captivates both audiences and professionals alike.  The Weser courier reports that a total of 24 German horses will compete as ambassadors for local horse breeding and the spectators are excited to see the young hopefuls.

A total of five, six and seven-year-old horses are presented in Verden. Divided into age groups, eight horses will be nominated to represent the international field of the event. The Hanoverian So Special v. is particularly popular. Secret, who has already won a silver medal at the 2022 World Championships in Ermelo. Greta Heemsoth and Jessica Lynn Thomas, two remarkable riders, will compete at the Verdener Verein Aller-Weser and are bringing exciting horses with them, including Endorphin FRH and Felice FRH, the former having already achieved second place twice at the Federal Championships.

The selection of the World Cup aspirants took place in Warendorf, where the best of the best were seen. The riders Greta Heemsoth and Dorothee Schneider rely on experience and talent, such as Segantini FRH by. Secret, who also has World Cup experience. The qualifying tests for the six-year-old horses start on August 6th, the small final takes place on August 9th and the big finale takes place on August 11th.

The participation of the five-year-old dressage horses will be particularly exciting, as they will make their first major appearances in Verden with the decisive test on August 11th. The surprise of the final competition was Jovian, who took first place with a final score of 9.66, scoring four perfect 10s, while the silver medal went to Secret.
