On August 16th, 280 first graders in Nordenham will celebrate starting school, despite declining numbers compared to the previous year.
School enrollment in Nordenham: 280 ABC shooters start school life!
On August 16, 2025, a big celebration will be celebrated in Nordenham: 280 first graders will be starting school. This means that the number of ABC shooters has fallen by 24 children compared to the previous year, when 304 young students still came to school. On this day, the local primary school will once again be a crucial step in the lives of many children, which is associated with celebrations and happy faces. Particular attention is being paid to the Friedrich-August-Hütte primary school, which has the most first-graders with 54 new registrations.
We warmly invite you to the school enrollment ceremonies at the different schools. The festival at the Abbehausen elementary school begins at 9 a.m. with a solemn service in the St. Laurentius Church. 38 first graders, 7 fewer than last year, are ceremoniously welcomed there. Encouraged by class teachers Antje Logemann-Dirks and Lorina Stüdemann, there will be a lot of excitement in the classes.
The celebrations at a glance
But it's not just Abbehausen that has the holiday firmly on the calendar. Other schools in Nordenham are also well-filled:
- Grundschule Atens: 45 Erstklässler (2 mehr als im Vorjahr) sind hier zu begrüßen, mit einem Einschulungsgottesdienst am 15. August in der St.-Marien-Kirche.
- Grundschule Blexen: Hier starten 14 Kinder (5 weniger als im Vorjahr), die um 10 Uhr ihre Einschulungsfeier in St.-Hippolyt-Kirche feiern werden.
- Grundschule Einswarden: Mit 26 Erstklässlern (8 weniger als im Vorjahr) sinkt die Gesamtzahl der Schüler von 131 auf 114. Die Begrüßung beginnt um 9.30 Uhr.
- Grundschule Süd: 53 Erstklässler (61 im Vorjahr) feiern am 15. August um 17 Uhr in der Martin-Luther-Kirche.
- St.-Willehad-Schule: 39 Erstklässler (41 im Vorjahr) werden um 9.30 Uhr in der St.-Willehad-Kirche empfangen.
- Förderschule Am Siel: Diese Schule meldet einen Zuwachs von 7 auf 11 Erstklässler, was die Gesamtzahl der Schüler von 122 auf 140 anhebt.
School ceremonies as an important tradition
School enrollment ceremonies are a central element in everyday school life, as is the case South Victory School highlights. The start of the school year is celebrated with joy, excitement and strong traditions, even if the number of new students drops slightly.
