A trend of property damage
The crime in Nordenham may be part of an unpleasant series of property damage in the region. As the Press portal Reportedly, several vehicles were recently affected on Werftstrasse. The perpetrators, men from Nordenham, seemed dissatisfied with the parking situation and labeled some cars saying that the parking spaces were reserved for residents. This “action” resulted in damage of around 200 euros each to various vehicles.
A 56-year-old man was caught damaging vehicles back on January 19, 2024. The Oldenburg public prosecutor then ordered a search of his apartment, during which evidence was found. He and a 48-year-old accomplice are now being investigated for damage to property and attempted dangerous interference with road traffic. So far, the police have become aware of four similar cases.
Appeal to those affected
In view of these incidents, the police have also asked other victims to come forward. Anyone who has noticed damage to their vehicle should contact the police on 04731/2694-0 or via the Lower Saxony Police online watchdog. It could turn out that we are dealing with a broad problem that does not just affect individuals.
The current incidents make it clear that a vigilant population is needed to put an end to such schemes. It remains to be hoped that the investigation will quickly lead to clarification and that the vandalistic attacks on people's vehicles will come to an end.
