New Netto market starts on Tuesday in Berne and Großenmeer!

Something is happening in Berne and Großenmeer! On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, a new Netto market will open its doors. The market managers are already full of anticipation because it starts at 7 a.m. To ensure that everything goes smoothly, a pre-inspection for the administration and the local councils takes place the day before. The two new locations are at Weserstrasse 33b in Berne and at the Segel in Großenmeer, where construction work was announced a few years ago. Mayor Sascha Stolorz celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony at a residents' meeting two years ago, and now the time has finally come!

The modern and sustainable design of both markets is particularly pleasing. In addition to a sales area of more than 1,000 square meters, Berne also has two charging stations for electric vehicles, including two fast charging stations. Both markets are built using a timber frame construction, which not only enhances the ambience, but also helps reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 60%. Around 5,000 items are offered in both Berne and Großenmeer, and the Bern market also has a branch of the Tönjes country bakery with a café. Convenient for customers: the Netto market's opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., while the bakery is open from 6:30 a.m.

New jobs and regional commitment

Another positive aspect is the new jobs that the markets will create. Around 20 employees in Berne and 15 in Großenmeer will find new jobs here. Netto also relies on regional roots by training a young person in each market. This is not only an opportunity for young people, but also strengthens the local economy and promotes local cohesion.

The construction work in Großenmeer took place with customer safety in mind. There is a separate truck entrance to minimize the potential for danger. In addition, an impressive basic concept for an environmentally friendly supermarket was developed, which is now also being cited by other large providers, such as Edeka, who rely on sustainable construction methods. Photovoltaic systems are also planned on the roofs of the Netto markets.

Both locations also offer appropriate parking options with electric charging stations, which is extremely practical for environmentally conscious customers. For the first few days after the opening, Netto even offers an opening discount of 10%, which proves to be a welcome opportunity to discover the fresh goods without obligation and to shop just around the corner. Here it's not just the shopping spree that becomes an experience, but also the good business - that makes both cities a bit more livable.

We are looking forward to the new additions in Berne and Großenmeer! It remains exciting to see what the future will bring and how well the markets will integrate into local events.
