Vaccination statistics and individual precautionary measures

With regard to vaccination protection, the vaccination rate in Germany has increased to 76.3% of the total population by April 8, 2023, which means that 63,493,268 people are basic immunized. At least 77.9% of the population have received at least one dose. This is a good sign for collective immunity, which is crucial for the further course of the pandemic. A survey by Statista found that 62.8% of the population had received a booster vaccination and 16.2% were even vaccinated twice.

The vaccination campaign, which began in December 2020, is showing initial success, which is reflected in the stable numbers of new infections. A new Corona variant, the Nimbus (NB.1.8.1), was discovered in January 2025 and classified as a “variant under surveillance” by the WHO, which continues to urge caution.

The situation remains positive and the people in Lower Saxony can hope for a return to normality. A good feeling that many will appreciate!
