Bottrop's swimming talents shine at the KidsCup - on the way to victory!

On June 26, 2025, the Bottrop Swimming Association once again showed what it is capable of. At the second preliminary round of the KidsCup 2025, which took place in the local indoor swimming pool, the talented young swimmers competed under the motto “Together at shark speed!” to. The event proved to be a complete success and provided the young athletes with a platform to demonstrate the skills they had already learned.

Lavinia Ortz and her teammates Hanna Certa, Lenja Schramm, Lucy Schulz, Milena Liuni (all born in 2017), as well as Ferdinand Zaun, Jakob Meissner, Joshua Kirsch and Pia Binia (all born in 2016) showed impressive performances in the various competitions. A total of six relay events and a 200-meter team endurance event were on the program, in which the children presented remarkable progress and strong races. The atmosphere was consistently positive both in and out of the pool, with parents and teammates cheering and motivating each other.

A special reward

The participants were given a cool reward for their hard work: At the end of the event, each participant received an ice cream, sponsored by Sparkasse Bottrop. This small gesture ensured even more joy and a successful conclusion to the event.

The team is looking forward to the next challenges in the KidsCup with great anticipation and is already looking forward again in order to continue to be successful. This positive development is not only a sign of good training work, but also shows how important the support of clubs and organizations is for young talent in sport.

The role of sports promotion

But it's not just the events themselves that contribute to the development of young talent. The Children's sports aid is significantly committed to promoting sport for children and young people. Various funding programs attempt to improve the sports and exercise offerings for young people and to promote their health-oriented development. In Bottrop, too, the swimming association benefits from such support, which makes it possible to optimally train and equip the young people.

In times when sport is becoming increasingly important for children, it is important to further expand existing offerings and give children from all social classes, especially from poorer backgrounds, access to sporting activities. “Together we can do it” could be summed up as the motto for the future of the Bottrop Swimming Association, which is looking forward to the next challenge with enthusiasm and team spirit.

For more information about the past event, it's worth taking a look at the reporting Bottrop newspaper, which documents the successful start to the Kids Cup season.

The future of swimming in Bottrop looks promising, and one thing is certain: “Together at shark speed to the finish!” – the young athletes have proven this motto more than once!
