The city of Cologne also has a lot to offer this week. From cultural events to interesting workshops and entertaining leisure activities, there is something for everyone. Let's take a look at the special highlights that will take place in the coming week.

Cultural events and discussions

On Monday, August 18th, a play awaits us at the beginning of the week in the Central Library: “Weinheber’s suitcase – countering anti-Semitism”. Admission is free and there will be an interactive discussion after the screening. However, registrations are required to secure a spot.

On Tuesday, literature lovers can look forward to a reading by Lena Schätte at 6 p.m. She will read from her book “The Black on My Father’s Hands”. This event is also accessible without prior registration. Anyone interested in sustainable living also has the opportunity to take part in a workshop on the topic of “worm boxes – humus from kitchen waste”; However, registration is necessary here.

The screening of “The Bridges on the River” on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Canisiushaus offers a cinematic change – and entry is free! On Wednesday there will be a staged reading by Rainer Maria Rilke in the Flingern library, also free of charge.

Music and leisure for everyone

Those interested in music and dance can look forward to a live karaoke event on Tonhallenufer on Thursday evening. From 6 p.m., hobby singers can perform popular songs and participation is free!

The “Olympic Adventure Camp” is taking place this week for all sports enthusiasts, young and old. This children's and youth program is intended for participants aged 6 to 21 and runs daily from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., with no participation fees.

If you would like to try your luck, you can take part in bingo on the city beach on Monday at 6 p.m. Here you need at least ten bingo cards, with one card costing 1 euro. And there's something else for music lovers: a rock concert with Goldmucke on Thursday evening, tickets cost from 25 euros and are available online.
