The traffic situation in Duisburg will change drastically in the coming weeks, as the A59 will be completely closed due to extensive construction work on the Berlin Bridge. How 24rhine reported, the closure will begin on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, and will last until August 26, 2025, for a total of four weeks.
The two directions of travel on the A59 are particularly affected. In the direction of Duisburg, the road will be closed from July 29th at 8 p.m. until August 12th at 5 a.m. The closure will then be implemented in the opposite direction, to Dinslaken. This starts on August 12th at 8 p.m. and ends on August 26th at 5 a.m. This means that the entire section from the Duisburg-Meiderich junction to the Duisburg motorway junction will not be accessible, which will mean a significant change for many commuters, especially during the summer holidays.
