Festival Feykultur”: Experience creativity, music and dance in Eiserfey!

The popular “Feykultur” festival is fast approaching. The seventh edition of this colorful spectacle, which delights both art and music lovers, will take place on July 26th and 27th in Eiserfey. Organized by “Feykultur e.V.”, the courtyard of the old mayor's office will be transformed this weekend into a center of encounters and inspiration for the whole family.

The atmosphere at the festival will be filled with a mix of handmade jazz, folk, world music and electronic sounds. Musical highlights include our own band “Die Klangstrategen”, which will boast influences from jazz, pop and prog rock, as well as the cover band “Newmen”, which will create a party atmosphere on Saturday evening. On Sunday, the trio “Cartouche”, known for lyrical jazz, will work together with the ensemble “Permission to Fly”, which will provide loops and live sounds that will enchant visitors with their sounds.

Dance, art and culinary

This year, special attention will also be paid to the dancers. For the first time, two dance prizes will be offered: An adult dance competition will take place on Saturday in the old school playground, with the winners being chosen by the audience at 7.30 p.m. The junior dance competition continues on Sunday, with a jury made up of experienced dance experts. The “Feytal Youth Prize” will also be awarded here at 4 p.m. Both prizes are endowed with 500 euros each.

The visual arts are represented at the festival by exhibitions by artists such as Rendel Freude, Luzie Dornseifer, Nicole Hoppmann, Ralf Jungbluth, Ursula Franke, Claudia Meyer and Peter Ratz. The works can be discovered at various locations on the “Feykultur” site, about which detailed information is available in the program booklet at the box office.

And what would a festival be without good food? A rich cake buffet and international cuisine are offered here, with something for every palate. There are also some beers and grilled dishes on offer - you can really fortify yourself after an exciting dance competition.

Practical information and tickets

The ticket prices are family-friendly: a day ticket costs 10 euros, while the festival ticket for both days costs 15 euros. Children and young people up to 16 years of age enjoy free entry!

Cultural festivals like “Feykultur” are not only a platform for art and music, but also a place to strengthen the local community and experience culture up close. As with many other festivals in the world, such as the well-known one Salzburg Festival or that Glastonbury Festival, the Cologne events also offer a unique insight into the regional culture and the diversity of creative forms of expression.
