Robbie Williams inspires Gelsenkirchen: Kiss for physiotherapist!
An evening full of nostalgia, emotions and unforgettable moments: Robbie Williams, the pop star with the unerring feeling for great shows, rocked the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen last night. The start of his 2023 German tour transformed the arena into a pulsating party zone where fans celebrated his hits and felt the connection to one of the most famous musicians of the 90s. “Did you miss me?” Williams asked as he took the stage with his hit “Rocket” at 8:41 p.m. In a crisp red outfit consisting of a tank top and suit pants, he immediately put in a good mood and a highly motivated audience, like Bild.de reported.
The show was intense from the first minute. In addition to Williams, there were nine dancers and eleven band members on stage, who together created an impressive choreography. A special moment was when Patricia Soave, a physiotherapist from Gelsenkirchen, was personally invited by Robbie to a duet. He sang “She’s the One” for her, kissed her on the forehead and hugged her – a truly unforgettable experience for the lucky woman.
After the first “wow” effect
Anyone expecting anything other than a spectacular show was quickly proven wrong. Within 17 minutes the first bra flew onto the stage, which visibly surprised Robbie. The interaction with the audience continued as a Schalke scarf was thrown onto the stage, which was met with a collective “BUUUH!” was answered. The audience was clearly thrilled, and Williams knew how to captivate them - a skill he has perfected over a 33-year career that began in the '90s and made him one of pop's biggest stars, as ksta.de points out.
During the concert, Williams also shared personal insights into his life, discussing his challenges with depression and his battle with alcohol abuse. This openness clearly freed him and made him what he is today. Even when he stands triumphant on stage, looking back at his past doesn't allow him to hide his vulnerable side from his fans.
A look at the future
Yesterday's concert was just the start of a larger German tour that will bring Robbie back to the Veltins Arena in 2025. On June 25, 2025, the singer will perform again in Gelsenkirchen, part of a seven-concert tour that will take him to other cities such as Hanover, Leipzig and Berlin. Tickets for these events will be available from November 15, 2023, as can be read on the official website veltins-arena.de.
Robbie Williams has sold over 85 million albums in his musical career and holds numerous records. He doesn't allow himself to be blinded by his previous successes, but knows that music is, in a way, therapy for him. As he himself says, he feels happier today than ever, even if the shadows of his past will never completely disappear. The pop star, who despite all the ups and downs, always returns to his roots, remains a phenomenon.
