A serious traffic accident occurred today, July 18, 2025, in Alsdorf. At around 12 p.m. there was a collision between a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Carl-Zeiss-Straße and Max-von-Laue-Straße. The 55-year-old driver wanted to turn left onto Carl-Zeiss-Straße when the 18-year-old motorcyclist approached the intersection from the direction of Hoengener Straße. The impact was severe, so the fire department was immediately alerted and arrived a short time later.
The situation on site was tense. The motorcyclist was initially classified as very seriously injured and was taken to hospital for further medical treatment. Fortunately, the examination revealed that his injuries were less serious than initially feared. The car driver, however, remained uninjured. The emergency services provided immediate first aid, while a special accident assessment team was called in to clarify the exact cause of the accident.
