The anticipation in Meschede is increasing! The eagerly awaited Volksbank Open Air begins on July 16, 2025. Now in its 19th edition, the Stiftsplatz next to St. Walburga Church is transformed into a venue for musical highlights. For six weeks, every Wednesday until August 20th, music lovers can look forward to unforgettable evenings. The concerts start at 7.30 p.m. and, making things even more attractive, entry is free for all age groups.
The popular summer festival is organized by Volksbank Sauerland in cooperation with Meschede city marketing. The organizers expect a number of visitors of around 1,000 people per evening. The Volksbank Open Air has established itself as an integral part of the cultural calendar and has been attracting music lovers to the region for years.
A highlight of the region
What makes the Volksbank Open Air so special? The combination of free entry and a varied program makes it a popular summer meeting place. This year the following bands are represented in the line-up:

The concerts take place in all weathers, making the open air an incomparable world of experience. The festival not only offers great music, but also culinary offerings available on site. Bringing your own drinks is prohibited for safety reasons, but that's no problem for thirsty visitors who can enjoy the selection on site.
Special innovations
This year, visitors can look forward to some innovations. For the first time, a mobile, barrier-free toilet will be provided on Stiftsplatz to make the event accessible to everyone. There will also be a starter package consisting of a “festival cup” and five “chips”, which can be purchased from the Volksbank Sauerland in Meschede from the beginning of July. Volksbank members also receive a drinks chip – an additional incentive for loyal customers.
The festival cups are a very special highlight. They can be used at any concert and at the same time bring the feeling of a once-in-a-lifetime festival visit. Personal memorabilia is good for marketing and ties to the region, as well SumUp reported.
