Iran attacks US base in Qatar: explosions shake Doha!
What a huge shock: Iran recently attacked US forces at an air base in Qatar. As the daily news Reportedly, six rockets were fired on Tuesday at the base in Al-Udeid, which also houses the headquarters of the US Central Command. Explosions were clearly heard in Doha, the capital of Qatar, according to reports from an AFP reporter. The Pentagon confirmed the attack, but fortunately there were no reports of injuries or deaths. Qatar responded immediately and temporarily closed its airspace to ensure aviation safety.
Security precautions and international reactions
The situation is serious: Bahrain and Kuwait have also closed their airspace as a “precautionary measure”. In Bahrain, the Ministry of Transport urged people to seek shelter in nearby buildings. Iraq followed suit and announced the complete closure of its airspace, with the airport in Basra, which was previously active, now also closed. These developments have resulted in numerous flights being recalled, including one operated by Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Dubai.
Lufthansa plans to monitor the constantly changing situation in the region and adjust the flight schedule accordingly. Qatar itself condemned the Iranian attack as a “flagrant violation” of sovereignty and airspace. The country's air defense systems appear to have successfully intercepted Iranian missiles.
Military maneuvers in the Gulf of Oman
