Verena Krauledat takes over the musical reins in Kleve!

There's a lot going on in the music scene in Kleve! The “Concerts of the City of Kleve” will start the 2025/26 season on Tuesday, September 23rd. Verena Krauledat will take over responsibility from her predecessor Sigrun Hintzen, who wielded the scepter for 25 years. Krauledat, an experienced musicologist who studied in Berlin and Detmold, has been part of the team since 2017 and was previously responsible for the concert introductions. Her passion extends from the violin to the viola and she brings a breath of fresh air to the concert offering.

Hintzen also knows that organizing concerts is a herculean task that goes far beyond a mere passion for music. Krauledat has ambitious plans: She wants to present music as non-elitist and design her concert introductions as a bridge to music for the audience. It is now clear at the latest that something is brewing here that could enrich the cultural life of the city.

A highlight at the end of the season

The singers of “vode” trained with greats such as the Real Group and Voces8 and sharpened their skills in workshops with well-known lecturers such as Kim Nazarian and Tine Fris-Ronsfeld. The concert promises a journey through themes such as loneliness, encounters and loving memories, packed into a varied program with well-known songs by Coldplay, Elton John and the Beatles. With solo moments and full choir voices, it will be a truly musical experience.

A real benefit for the city

The upcoming design of the concert series is already casting its shadows. Sigrun Hintzen, who leaves big shoes to fill, has already emphasized the importance of speaking musicians in establishing a connection with the audience. Krauledat will continue this tradition and is already planning for the 2026/27 season, as many soloists and ensembles set their schedule up to three years in advance. The NRW Cultural Secretariat will support the concert, which underlines the importance of these events.

Those who want to be there on May 10th can look forward to different ticket prices: 18 euros for adults, 16 euros for reduced tickets and just 5 euros for school and college students. Advance sales are over www.kleve.reservix.de as well as via Reservix-VVK points and the information from the Klever town hall. Doors open shortly before 7 p.m. so everyone can secure the best seats.

The changes and innovations in the Klever music landscape show that something is really in flux here. Krauledat and “vode” symbolize a lively and accessible approach to music that will certainly inspire many people. And that is exactly what we need to promote cultural diversity in our city.
