Careers live 2025: Accompanying young people on their way into the future!
The “Professions live 2025” trade fair from September 18th to 20th, 2025 offered an excellent platform for young people who want to start looking for their future career path. Organized by the Lippe zu Detmold Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Lippe), the event captivated over 4,000 visitors. LZ reports that more than 90 exhibitors provided valuable information on career choices, apprenticeships and dual study programs. The interactive experiences at the trade fair, such as operating machines and getting to know virtual production processes using VR glasses, made the visit a real experience for many.
What made the trade fair special were the first two days of the trade fair, which were organized specifically for school classes from Detmold, Lemgo, Bad Salzuflen and other cities. On the third day, it was mainly parents and their children who came to the start to gather important information about training options. DetmoldPlus highlights that new formats such as “tailor-made placement” and “last-minute placement” were also introduced in order to bring young people and companies together more closely.
New possibilities for the future
Particularly noteworthy was the “Opportunity Market”, which was aimed at people without a fixed career path. The focus here was also on supporting Ukrainians with a background in economics. The aim was to show paths to recognition and qualification and to attract companies for internships and employment. Martin Raithel, department head of the IHK Lippe, emphasized the importance of making careers tangible so that young people can develop a better idea of their professional future.
The trade fair was not only a source of information, but also a place where participants could gain practical experience. In dual training, a mix of practical work in the company and theoretical lessons at vocational school, young people have the opportunity to quickly take on responsibility and earn money right from the start. The employment agency also provides an overview about the advantages of dual training and the numerous opportunities for further training that are available.
A look ahead to 2026
The IHK Lippe has already announced the next trade fair “Professions live 2026”, which will take place from September 17th to 19th, 2026. It will be exciting to see what new impulses and opportunities this event will offer. While the young people from Lipper go home from the trade fair with fresh energy and new perspectives, it remains to be hoped that many of them will find the ideal training place. And so it goes with every step on the way to your professional future!
