Job growth in the digital economy
Another positive aspect is the creation of new jobs. The digital industry plans to create around 9,000 new jobs next year, bringing the total number of employees to 1.354 million. In the previous year, 3,500 new jobs were created. Nevertheless, Bitkom President Ralf Wintergerst warns that not all companies will benefit from this growth and emphasizes that no further hurdles should be created, especially for energy-intensive areas such as data centers.
However, the different market developments also include the negative forecast for the consumer electronics sector, whose sales are expected to fall by 3.3 percent to 7.6 billion euros. This shows that the digital landscape is diverse and constantly changing.
