TBV Lemgo Lippe fights bravely, but loses against SC Magdeburg!

On August 16, 2025, TBV Lemgo Lippe played against SC Magdeburg in the first game of the Wartburg Cup and was defeated 28:34. In a thrilling encounter, coach Florian Kehrmann's team didn't let themselves get down despite the defeat and showed a committed performance that was level until the 50th minute. The score of 25:26 showed that the Lemgoers were always in the game before Magdeburg was able to make the result more clear in the final phase. Samuel Zehnder was the top scorer of the game for Lemgo with his ten goals.

The game was also characterized by a tactical orientation, as Lemgo played the entire game with a majority of players, 7 against 6, in order to prepare for Magdeburg's strong defense. An early exclusion of Adam with a red card and the absence of Hendrik Wagner further challenged the team.

Goalkeepers and goal scorers

In the goalkeeper position, Möst was strong with five saves, while Kastelic was able to successfully fend off three saves. Other goal scorers for Lemgo were Hutecek with two goals, Willecke with six, as well as Schagen, Suton and Theilinger, who each contributed a few goals. Overall, the result was quite inconsistent, but the Lemgoers kept up well in the first half of the game.

The view

TBV Lemgo Lippe's next game at the Wartburg Cup will take place on Saturday against Skanderborg Handbold from Denmark at 3:30 p.m. There is also excitement for the upcoming league duel: in two weeks the teams will meet again in the Phoenix Contact Arena in Lemgo. Over 4,000 tickets for the league game have already been sold, with standing room only still available. The anticipation of returning to the league is palpable.

As newsgo.de reports, the TBV Lemgo Lippe is well on the way to further development and is fighting with full energy for the coming challenges. Given the positive feedback from coach Kehrmann, the team will go into the next games wide awake and full of motivation. True to the motto “On your feet, set, go!” The Lemgoers are now moving on to the next round.

A look at the academic offerings at Wartburg University shows that students there can combine interdisciplinary courses. A maximum of 20 credits from the different subject areas may be taken, which certainly promotes the creativity and flexibility of the learners, as wartburg.edu not insignificantly emphasizes. Perhaps the upcoming sporting challenges will also inspire one or two players in their academic careers.
