Burglaries in Lüdenscheid: E-bikes and tools stolen from cellars!

Crime in the Cologne area is making headlines again. Between Wednesday and Saturday, several basement rooms were broken into, and not for the first time recently. The police are reporting an increase in burglaries, particularly on Königstrasse and Rahmedestrasse. Not only simple items were stolen - the perpetrators were after valuable e-bikes and tools.

Unknown perpetrators broke into several cellar compartments on Königstrasse between Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon. The exact extent of the damage remains unclear, which only makes the matter all the more worrying for residents. On Rahmedestrasse, however, there were more devastating results: between Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning, a basement room in an apartment building was violently broken into. The loot included a Focus e-bike, a circular saw and a Makita drill, which increases the value of the stolen items. The police are therefore asking for information from witnesses on 02351/9099-0 in order to track down the perpetrators news.de.

The thing with e-bikes

Unfortunately, the stolen e-bikes are not an isolated case. E-bikes were also a popular target for thieves in other cities, such as Würzburg. There, cellars were broken into on the night of September 1st, 2025 to September 2nd, 2025, causing damage of around 18,000 euros. The entrance doors to the apartment buildings were open, which made it easier for the perpetrators to break in. The Würzburg police warn urgently: Valuable e-bikes should be secured with robust locks, and accessories such as batteries should always be taken with you. GPS trackers can also help to keep an eye on the bikes wuerzburgerleben.de.

The police also give valuable tips to prevent break-ins into basement rooms and the theft of bicycles. It is important that all doors to the cellars and house entrances remain locked. If people present in the house appear strange, it is advisable to speak to them directly in order to identify potential perpetrators more quickly.

The impact of residents' fears

With the increasing number of break-ins, concern among residents is also growing. While the police are working hard to investigate, people are feeling increasingly unsafe in their own living environment. Many people ask themselves how they can protect themselves and their property, which unfortunately is increasingly becoming a target for criminals.

Current events are shining a bright light on the potential of security systems and proactive crime prevention measures. A little attention and cooperation from neighbors can often help prevent such crimes. Residents are asked to keep an eye on their neighbors and the surrounding area and to inform the police if there is any suspicious activity.
